Workshops

„One step closer” – workshops.

The workshops will aim to facilitate understanding of the needs of people with disabilities and to help representatives of tourist facilities in contacts with tourists with disabilities as a group of recipients of tourist services. The workshop will introduce representatives of the tourism sector to the role of people at risk of exclusion through existing barriers. The programme will consist of five thematic panels: simulation of a person with reduced mobility, simulation of a person with visual impairment, playing the role of a person with hearing impairment, playing the role of an elderly person and learning the importance of a guide dog in the life of a blind person. Through workshop activities, representatives of tourist facilities will have the opportunity to experience the limitations of people with special needs, including people with disabilities. In the long run, the workshop aims to increase competence and responsibility and disseminate the idea of creating tourism products – places, events, technologies, without barriers for people with special needs.

The workshop will be recorded and a short promotional video will be edited. The video will show how members of the travel industry learn to understand the problems and limitations that people with disabilities experience in their daily lives. This video will be send to all people and organizations participating in the project and to the other mentioned above organizations and enterprises.

The project is co-financed by the Governments of Czechia, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia through Visegrad Grants from International Visegrad Fund. The mission of the fund is to advance ideas for sustainable regional cooperation in Central Europe.
