International Week WAB 2025

International Week WAB 2025

For the fourth time, May 19-23, 2025, we hosted participants from abroad as part of the WAB International Week, which brought together people from 10 different countries across three continents! The exchange of teaching and administrative staff included participants from countries such as the Dominican Republic, Armenia, Kosovo, Kazakhstan, Denmark, Czechia, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania and the United Kingdom, and was possible and co-founded by the European Union.

International Week provides an opportunity for joint international cooperation and networking, as well as broadening the meaning of internationalization for all partner universities. It also provides WAB students with the opportunity to attend classes and lectures. Thanks to the Open Lectures, WAB students and lecturers, as well as high school students, had the opportunity to attend lectures by two speakers: Dr Rob Davidson from the University of Greenwich in the UK, who addressed the topic of ‘Personal Branding’, and Dr Sotiris Karagiannis from the University of New York in Prague in Czechia, who talked about presentation methods and gave a lecture entitled ‘Presenting with Confidence’.

These lectures were just one part of the International Week activities. International Week participants could attend a workshop led by Dr Sotiris Karagiannis on creating engaging learning experiences for university students. A game of ‘Polish Bingo’ allowed to learn more about Polish culture and heritage, with teams competing fiercely in each category!

A tour of Lower Silesia and visits to the seventeenth-century Church of Peace in Świdnica and Książ Castle provided insight into the region’s history and helped participants to develop a better understanding of Wrocław’s multicultural nature. The Adoria vineyards introduced the culture of winemaking in Poland, which is currently flourishing nowhere else but in Lower Silesia.

Despite the rain, the sightseeing tour of Wrocław and the hunt for its dwarves were both a success!

International Week is a special and unique time during the academic year. It’s a great chance to form new cooperations and partnerships, exchange experiences and good practices, and – most importantly – meet new people!
